Gourmet pizza delivery London
Press Release - 15-03-2009
Order your favourite pizza delivery - from anywhere!

Kingston upon Thames, Tuesday 27th January 2009.- KODIME Ltd is pleased to announce it is providing a complete Mobile Marketing and M-Commerce solution for Firezza, a London-based chain of specialist pizza restaurants with wood fired ovens producing the best gourmet pizzas in town delivered to your door. The solution, based on KODIME's ZOOMtxt® PRO software, enables advanced mobile campaign management in combination with instant ordering of menu items, directly from any mobile phone, and is expected to deliver new customers.

Nico Köpke, CEO KODIME, commented: "Mobile marketing and transactions are a perfect match for home delivery of meals such as Firezza's great choice of gourmet wood fired pizzas. Reminders, special offers and order taking from any mobile phone mean better service, easier ordering and improved marketing ROI for the restaurant. The special nature of mobile CRM allows for very user friendly ordering, using the mobile number to link customer details such as the delivery address automatically. To date, mobile marketing and ordering of home meals has been deployed by a small number of bigger players. Our implementation using ZOOMtxt PRO proves that professional mobile marketing and m-commerce are now a realistic option also for smaller businesses."

Using the new solution, the marketing and operations team at Firezza are in direct control of outbound campaigns that are highly targeted and timely, and unique for each of the currently 8 branches across London. Edin Basic, Firezza co-founder, comments:

"We are very excited to be working with Kodime in this new venture. Firezza is the first pizza delivery company in London and the UK to use mobile ordering and we look forward to making it even easier for our customers to place their orders. I am confident that this new technology will also help us achieve our ambitious growth targets for 2009."

Business reaction - Edin Basic Owner of Firezza pizza chain

By Jonathan Moules

Edin Basic, a former pizza chef, set up Firezza, an upmarket pizza chain and delivery service, in 2001, writes Jonathan Moules.
The business employs 120 people across eight branches and turnover this year will be more than £3m. Mr Basic, pictured left , welcomes many of the stimulus measures announced yesterday, particularly support for smaller businesses.
Bank lending has not been a problem for Firezza, which recently renewed its overdraft with the terms unchanged. But Mr Basic appreciates any lending support since he may borrow more in the next few months to help fund expansion.
He plans to use the cut in VAT to increase his margins, which have been eroded by other government measures, such as the recent increase in the minimum wage rate.
"A few pence off the price of a pizza is not going to make people buy a lot more," he says, adding that Firezza aims to pass on some of the benefits through discounts and the creation of a loyalty scheme.
But Mr Basic claims that he will not prosper through price competition alone. "People are shopping around more so you have to be the best in your game, not just having special offers."
Mr Basic is most concerned about the drop in the value of sterling because he imports many of his ingredients from Italy. VAT may have dropped in the UK, but the Italian government still levies 21 per cent VAT on the tomatoes and cheese he buys.
